Happenings In The Pearl Area of SA

Happenings in The Pearl Area @ Sam’s Burger JointSam’s Burger Joint and Music Hall is known to both artists and appreciative fans alike as the best music room in San Antonio. With an excellent sound system, an unobstructed view, great food and a diverse line-up of acts, it’s not hard to see why it has that reputation.

The stage at Sam’s has seen everything from blues to indie rock, rockabilly and swing to country, and Americana to soul and funk. In addition to local favorites, Sam’s has hosted internationally known musicians such as Gary Clark Jr., Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Geoff Tate, Candlebox, Saxon, Leon Bridges, Vaden Todd Lewis, The Mavericks, Robin Trower, Colin Hay, Eric Johnson, Paul Thorn, The Texas Tornados, James McMurtry and many more.

Sam’s is centrally located just north of downtown at Broadway and Grayson. The distinctive neon album-shaped sign can be seen from Highway 281, and it’s right next to the Pearl Brewery.

In addition to live music, Sam’s also features comedy nights, swing dance lessons, and other special events.  Check out our Facebook page for  upcoming Happenings in SA Events.

Farmers Market @ The Pearl

Fresh • Local • Seasonal

Saturdays, 9am – 1pm • Sundays, 10am – 2pm • Rain or Shine

Pearl Weekend Market, a true representation of our South Texas growing ranching and artisanal food community, features a producer-only Farmers Market on Saturday followed by a Sunday market with a bigger emphasis on artisanal and prepared foods. All 45+ vendors are located within a 150-mile-radius, selling produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, locally produced cheeses, olive oils, and a diverse selection of prepared foods and treats. Come meet your local food producers!

Foremly called Golden Gloves!  Still Golden has gone from Golden Gloves, then Stay Golden, then Still Golden- this place is gold! It’s a quasi-boxing themed bar that’s right across from the Pearl. They have a wide selection of whiskeys and bourbons, ranging all over the place in prices. The prices of drinks at the bar are clearly marked on the bottom of the bottle with a round sign. They also have a healthy selection of mezcal tequilas, and beers. Lone Star Beer is three bucks everyday! Woot!
Favorites are the cucumber tequila concoctions that they make. They have fast and friendly service, and serve up some fantastic drinks! The outdoor patio area has lots of seating options, with a great view of Broadway. The place has lots of things to do, with a little arcade and a photo booth.
TVs abound here, so this would be a great place to watch the Spurs play. Plenty of indoor seating with TVs in every direction make this an ideal spot to watch sports.
This is a fun bar- there’s always something going on here! The folks are friendly, and there’s often a food truck hanging out serving up grub.
